Eligibility Criteria of Medicare

Medicare is health insurance in the USA. The eligibility for Medicare is based on age, gender, and certain medical condition.

These conditions are:


1)- A person who is at least 65 years of age or a person who has had an amputation of the left leg below the knee and does not have an additional paraplegic condition that prevents him from sitting up in a chair for 20 minutes every day for 12 months without assistance.


2)- A person who has undergone major general surgery and cannot perform the operation or a person with certain forms of spinal cord injuries and paraplegia.


3)- A person who has had a bilateral hip prosthesis or an amputation of the left leg below the knee does not have an additional paraplegic condition that prevents him from sitting up in a chair for 20 minutes every day for 12 months.


There are a few conditions that might disqualify a person from receiving Medicare benefits, and these are:


A)- An active HIV infection (HIV-positive)


B)- Buse of any combination of medicines that affects immunity


C)- A person who has had an amputation of the left leg below the knee.


D)- A birth injury to the femur or amputation to the head and neck.


E)- A birth injury or an amputation of the left leg below the knee.


F)- An impairment of airway and breathing from congenital heart defects (CAH), brain stem disorders (SCB), or spinal cord injury (SCI).


G)- A person who has had brain stem disorders (SCB) or spinal cord injury (SCI), which completely or partially affects the nervous system and the control of breathing.


H)- A person who cannot sit up in a wheelchair and needs an additional paraplegic condition that prevents him from sitting up for 20 minutes every day for 12 months. Suppose you think you have fallen into one of the above conditions.

In that case, you can contact your nearest hospital or doctor for help and advice to get yourself diagnosed as medically eligible for Medicare.


4)- A person who has had two or more major general surgeries in five years.


5)- A person who cannot sit up in a chair for 20 minutes every day.


6)- A person without any of these conditions.

These conditions must be met before a person can apply for Medicare.
